‘Portland Roads’ is a hybrid catamaran, which means you can sail OR motor your way around the islands (please note: no fuel is included in the offer). Step on boardand take your pick from the three gorgeous queen size cabins with ensuites. All linen is supplied and it features a self-contained kitchen, flat screen TV, DVD player and a comprehensive DVD and book library for you to peruse at leisure. You can BYO food and drinks or Portland Roads can help you organise a spread for your luxury journey.
You’ll depart from the Abel Point Marina at Airlie Beach but before you head towards the horizon, you’ll have a thorough briefing session including charter, navigation, sailing, boat handling, ropes and amenities.
On board, you’ll have a copy of ‘100 Magic Miles’ - your road map to the beautiful Whitsundays. This can be cross referenced with your on board sat nav. And you’ll be in radio contact with your land base twice a day to make sure the holiday’s running smooth and to inform you of any weather changes. All safety equipment is included and you’ll have 24 hour mobile or satellite contact too, PLUS a motorised run-about boat so you can moor the catamaran and head to the shore whenever you like!

- Fuel, Mooring & Marina fees are an additional cost if required: fuel can cost up to $95 per day. Customers do not have to moor the boat – this is only if they want to go on land or do not feel comfortable anchoring. The cost for mooring differs from marina to marina, and areas, and is not charged by Portland Roads. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority levies can cost up to $18.00 per crew member
- Most will not use a Marina or Mooring, they will simply anchor in any one of thousands of our majestic Whitsunday coves. And of course, if you sail Portland Roads around the Islands, you will use very little fuel
- Blood alcohol limit of 0.05 applies to driver of the boat
