For the first two nights, we stayed in a beach room (without a pool). It was clean, the beach was well-maintained, and there were no insects around the area. For the last two nights, we stayed in an overwater villa. I recommend checking the villa’s location before checking in, make sure it’s not too close to the snorkeling area, as there was absolutely no privacy. Also, try to ask for a villa that’s positioned away from the wind direction. In a month like July, the strong winds can make swimming less enjoyable. One thing I didn’t like is that they don’t give you the option to view or choose your room in advance, they just surprise you with it!! The food here is great! There are three restaurants, and the main one is the Ocean Restaurant. Breakfast is the same every day, but dinner offers a different cuisine each night, which keeps things interesting. They offer several experiences and entertainment options, but unfortunately the weather didn’t allow us to try them. Like a tennis and volleyball courts, outdoor cinema and beach DJ in the outdoor bar ‘Trip’. There are a variety of water activities ( Snorkelling, diving…. Etc) as well. tried the spa massage, it was great. They have a fully equipped gym. With a variety of yoga classes. I just tried the sound healing session, it was new experience for me… The island is quite small, you can walk around it in about 20 minutes. The people and staff here are so lovely, always smiling and welcoming. However, the buggy service often takes a long time to arrive, which can be a bit inconvenient. Special thanks to Ayan, our Haharu host, for making our stay comfortable!

My stay at Avani Maldives was absolutely amazing — the service is top-notch. A special mention goes to Min, the bartender, who made our evenings at the bar so enjoyable. His drinks were excellent, and his warm, welcoming attitude added a personal touch that we really appreciated. Also, a big thank you to Mia, who served us daily at Ocean Terrace. She was always kind, attentive, and made sure our breakfast experience was smooth and pleasant every morning.

Pros: • Excellent food — truly a highlight of the stay. • The hotel itself is new, modern, and beautifully designed. • The service in the restaurants was top-notch. • The reef is incredible! If you’re coming for snorkeling, this is the place. We saw turtles four times and manta rays almost daily. There’s even a resident manta ray near the water villas. Cons: • Butler service was extremely disappointing. Our butler often replied only after a day or more, and even simple issues took 2–3 days to resolve. We had to constantly follow up ourselves. • The condition of our room was not acceptable for a hotel of this level — the ventilation system was exposed, there were no slippers, and the toilet door was broken. Once closed, it would lock from the inside, trapping the person inside. • Departure management was chaotic. The hotel works with Manta Air, which was a terrible experience. Our seaplane was delayed by 1.5 hours, and the hotel staff simply shrugged and said it wasn’t their responsibility. We ended up missing our connecting flight. Instead of allowing us to stay at the hotel and catch a proper flight the next day, we were just pushed out as if it wasn’t their concern. When we complained, we were told the same thing happened the day before and the day before that — clearly, this is a recurring issue. Why partner with an airline that delays every single day?
