Situated along the western edge of the Baa Atoll, on a beautiful UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the secluded paradise of Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort is only accessible by speedboat or seaplane. Explore incredibly clear waters and coral reefs – maybe even spot a dolphin while paddling around in the resort’s lagoon, or travel to Hanifaru Bay to snorkel with manta rays.

The resort is located a 40-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. The resort can be reached by seaplane transfer, available during daylight hours only at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort). Alternatively, the resort can be reached by a 30-minute speedboat transfer if guests fly into the domestic Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV), available day or night at an additional cost (payable directly to the resort). Update: 11th December 2024: As per the amendments to the Tourism Act issued by the Maldivian Government, applicable to all travellers arriving in the Maldives from 1 January 2025, the green tax payable by travellers upon arrival at hotels (including tourist resorts, tourist hotels, hotels, tourist guest houses, tourist vessels) has been increased from USD 6.00 to USD 12.00 per person per day.**

Update 6 December 2024, 3.15pm AEDT:** Effective 1 January 2025, the Government Green Tax will double from US$6 to US$12 per person, per night.

Seaplane Transfer:

The resort is located a 40-minute seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport (MLE).
Seaplane journeys are available during daylight hours only.
Guests arriving at Velana International Airport on an international flight after 3.30 p.m. will need to book a domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Airport (DRV) and arrange a 30-minute speedboat transfer.

A beautiful Memory Our stay at the Avani+ Fares Resort in the Maldives was truly a wonderful experience. From the very first moment, we were warmly welcomed and throughout our entire stay, we felt genuinely cared for by all the staff. My stay at Avani Maldives was absolutely amazing — the service is top-notch. A special mention goes to Min, the bartender, who made our evenings at the bar so enjoyable. His drinks were excellent, and his warm, welcoming attitude added a personal touch that we really appreciated. Also, a big thank you to Mia, who served us daily at Ocean Terrace. She was always kind, attentive, and made sure our breakfast experience was smooth and pleasant every morning.

A Dream Getaway That Stole Our Hearts from the Very First Minute! From the moment we stepped off the plane, we felt the Avani+ Fares magic. A friendly team member met us at the gate and whisked us to a brand‑new lounge stocked with delicious snacks and drinks— the perfect spot to relax while waiting for our seaplane transfer.We spent an unforgettable family vacation here, and the resort exceeded every expectation a thousand times over. We fell in love with this place instantly, and it has shot straight to the top of our all‑time favourite destinations. Service & Staff Every single team member is incredibly warm, helpful, and genuinely caring. A special shout‑out to our amazing butler Yasmin—available 24/7, solving every request with professionalism and a smile. She truly loves what she does, and it shows. Villas We stayed in both an Ocean Beach Villa and a Two‑Bedroom Over‑Water Villa. Each was spotless, spacious, and brand‑new. Beds and pillows were supremely comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything immaculate. Every corner of the island feels stylish yet homey—you’re instantly at ease. Dining Breakfasts were varied and always featured the freshest ingredients. In the evenings we could choose among three restaurants, and the main venue hosted fantastic live shows. Every meal felt like a treat. Well‑being & Medical Care We visited the clinic twice: the resident doctor was competent, attentive, and provided the right medication straightaway—very reassuring for a family trip. The spa experience was out of this world—the therapists are true masters, leaving us thoroughly refreshed. Activities In 10 days we were never bored: phenomenal snorkelling, tennis courts, beach volleyball, a games room, and so much more. The island itself is large, lush, and endlessly photogenic. Stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time in the Maldives and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We had an over water pool villa. Stepping off our deck into the sea was like stepping into an aquarium! The fish and marine life was awesome! The island itself is not huge - takes about 30 mins to gently stroll around the island. Staff are very friendly (special shout out to Priti who served us for a number of meals). Beaches were pristine as was the water. Hardly saw any rubbish either on the beach or in the water. Judd, the GM, runs a good operation and the staff speak highly of him. My only ‘complaints’ are that the seaplane service (not operated by the hotel) can be erratic and the buggy service was sometimes late. Overall, an excellent experience for 5 nights (just the right length of time) and we will be back!
