Crowne Plaza London - Kings Cross, an IHG Hotel

I was in London for a short four-night trip and was very happy with my stay. The room was small, but very clean, tastefully decorated, and had everything you need – small but perfectly formed. The breakfast was truly excellent: fresh, varied, and lovingly prepared. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the dinner – we once spontaneously had a pizza in the hotel restaurant, and it was divine! The elevator was a welcome plus, especially after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, a great hotel with good value for money – top! P.S. Close to platform 9 3/4 ;)

Came from Dubai for a quick trip and I’m so glad I chose this place. Weronika at reception was outstanding! Super friendly, helpful, and professional. She made everything easy from check-in to local tips. Great service, cozy hotel. Would definitely come back! Only thing i would say is don’t bring too much luggage as the rooms are quiet small and for breakfast come as early because it does get very busy, but overall breakfast is very nice and staff are also very welcoming.

I am staying at this place from 26 th and will be checking out tomorrow. I found the room very good, neat and tidy with all basic amenities. However room service is not up to the mark. The water bottle was not filled up on the two days. Refilling of tea coffee etc needs to be done. However I found the hotel staff very courteous and well behaved. Coming to the food menu, the options are very limited for dinner. There is only one variety of soup.Alsp the dessert section only provides ice cream. The buffet breakfast is disappointing too. Same menu with no variations. Surprisingly no pancake scones and such items in the menu. No fresh fruit juices provided. Regarding the location, I found it very very disappointing. If you are a tourist and do not have your own vehicle ( which is very expensive in London) then don't stay here. The staff says that bus stops, tube station are just nearby but the fact is you need to walk minimum 30 mins to reach there. So half of the energy is wasted in reaching the tube / bus stop and then taking a long tour becomes tiresome. So we had to take a black taxi everytime which hiked our expenses here. The place is desolate with no shops, only one coffee shop and no restaurants around and so you have to have dinner from the hotel with this limited option. So no quick shopping, no music around, no coffee no late night events. The help desk, though courteous is simply unable to guide you about touring the city and provide no knowledge other than that available with the internet. We had much time but could not shop due to the improper guidance.. The Coal Yard Place has simply nothing for the tourists. Very very disappointed with the location. However if you are on a business tour or have your own vehicle, location will not be an issue. But for tourists only hop on for the night and hop off the day after.

All good with the rooms and location however at times with the service given this seems over price hotel. I have stayed for few of my business trips due to proximity to office and convenience. However a lot has changed in terms of its service and especially on cleaning rooms. Earlier i used to get my rooms cleaned all day but then realized it was not needed to save effort and add to nature. However the cleaning person seems only trained to make beds and clean bathrooms. If you have kept anything outside or near bin they don't use common sense to take it. Even the towels kept outside they do not change. Really not the kind of service you would expect from such a known hotel. Overall the staff is good and helpful but then this should have been taken care of. Hope my next visit I could see difference. Also the price seems too high at times and have better options available.
