Highlights

The Retreat – Rustic charm meets wine country luxe

Tucked away in the heart of King Valley’s rolling vineyards, Dal Zotto Homestead and Studios is a testament to innovative design and countryside splendour. Here, repurposed shipping containers are reimagined into sophisticated accommodations that embrace the raw beauty of their past without sacrificing their industrial character.

With deep Italian roots, this vineyard hideaway gives guests an authentic taste of la dolce vita – slow mornings, fine wines and evenings that stretch beneath a sky dusted with stars. As dusk settles, the homestead takes on a magical quality: vineyard shadows lengthen, golden light bathes the landscape and a soft hush falls over the landscape, leaving nothing but the rustle of leaves and the gentle fizz of poured prosecco. Thoughtfully designed to immerse you in nature without skimping on indulgence, Dal Zotto Homestead and Studios is the idyllic escape for romance, relaxation or a gourmet adventure in Victoria’s famed wine country.

Your Handpicked Inclusions – Daily breakfast hamper, wine tasting experiences and more

Morning’s start slow and delicious with a farm-fresh breakfast hamper, brimming with artisanal bread, fresh milk and just-picked seasonal fruits – sourced straight from the region’s best producers. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed into the Dal Zotto family with a bottle of one of their celebrated wines.

No trip to Prosecco Road is complete without a tasting, and your stay includes an exclusive wine experience at the Dal Zotto Cellar Door, where you’ll sip your way through the varietals that have made King Valley a must-visit for wine lovers.

Because vineyard life is best savoured at a leisurely pace, late checkout at 11am is guaranteed, so you can squeeze in one last slow sip, vineyard stroll or deep breath of crisp country air before heading back to reality.

We spent a couple of nights is a studio and it was very comfortable albeit a tight squeeze to get in and out of bed. The studios had everything we needed and the fully stocked firepit was a hit. We found the staff we talked to really nice and would highly reccomend Dal Zotto as a destination (and their wines are great too !)

Perfect accommodation for a group stay in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains. We also hired the cabins. A spacious homestead which had all the amenities you need which allowed us to have a cook up breakfast and get ready for our daily plans. We were able to relax Saturday night with a barbecue allowing us to spend quality time together. Being in walking distance to Dal Zotto restaurant and wine tastings and MV Hotel made it a perfect location to relax . Can’t wait to go back.

While the rooms are very cleverly furnished and organised, the little studios ARE tiny. It's fine for one night when you don't want to unpack, but don't have a big suitcase or it'll end up staying in the car! Beautiful bathroom given the size of the bedroom. Loved the firepit and the generous supply of wood to burn. It's quite hard to clean up the kitchen after yourself with no room to put wet dishes so just plan for snacks and drinks only. I can't fault the thought and effort that's gone into the spaces though. And the location is idyllic - amazing vineyards surrounding you, polite and friendly staff; would have liked to meet the owner/family to make it a more personalised stay on one of the nights we were there. Given the size of the space, it's probably a bit expensive per night compared to elsewhere.

While the cellar door and the restaurant deserve 5 stars, the accommodation is meeting our expectations in terms of size and standard: there is literally no space to walk around the bed, the room feels claustrophobic, there is no TV and the bathroom big enough to dry yourself off with a towel without knocking your elbows. We saw the accommodation at Chrismount, which should give you some inspiration on what should be minimum standard.
