Kununurra’s waters and wetlands make it a mecca for watersports and wildlife enthusiasts. Lake Kununurra and neighbouring Lake Argyle – the largest man-made lake in the southern hemisphere – are also perfect for fishing, cruising, supping, paddling and canoeing, with many tours available in town.

To the south lies the wild, rugged landscape of the Bungle Bungle Range – over 122,000 square kilometres of terrain that ranges from arid red earth and deep gorges to canyons and the lush vegetation of UNESCO World Heritage-listed parks. The Bungle Bungle Range is one of the most extensive and impressive outcroppings of sandstone tower (or cone) karst terrain in the world. Sunsets in this great wilderness are divine, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with its natural geology and wildlife is unmissable.

Connect with nature on a short drive to at Mirima National Park, often described as the ‘mini Bungles’ for its 350-million-year-old sandstone cliffs, amphitheatres, gullies and ridges.
