Gateway Hotel by Nightcap Plus is perfectly positioned in the heart of Devonport, Tasmania. It’s just a short stroll from the Mersey River, Devonport Regional Gallery and the Bass Strait Maritime Centre. The hotel is approximately a three-hour drive from Tasmania’s capital, Hobart.

The hotel is located approximately a 10-minute drive from Devonport Airport (DPO). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.

  • Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.

The spa baths are amazing as you can watch the television from them and see the view outside. I love the layout of the room. Bed super comfortable. Nice walks nearby

A wonderful room. Large and spotlessly clean. Welcoming staff.could not fault one thing. Will be staying again next week and would recommend to anyone wanting top class accommodation. Special thank you to Sherri who went out of her way to make our stay fantastic. Night Cap Devonport have got a treasure for front of house service.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found it great. Nice staff in hotel and restaurant, food was good, dinner and breakfast. Nice comfortable, clean room with great shower. Easy, plentiful parking. Will use again next visit

My recent stay at Gate Away Hotel was deeply disappointing, primarily due to the appalling state of cleanliness throughout the property. Upon arrival, I was horrified to find our initial room in a disgusting condition. The toilet was visibly soiled with fecal matter and even had hair on it. The shower was covered in mold, and the mirror appeared to have been hastily wiped with a towel, leaving obvious streaks and dirt behind. After complaining, we were moved to another room, but the situation hardly improved. The replacement room had a terrible odor throughout, and the toilet was still dirty. The overall cleanliness standards were completely unacceptable for any hospitality establishment, let alone one charging for accommodations. I want to clarify that I don't blame the housekeeping staff for these issues. This appears to be a management problem, where staff likely aren't given adequate time to properly clean rooms or the resources to perform deep cleaning of critical areas like bathrooms. Basic maintenance such as mold removal from showers seems to be completely neglected. The hotel management needs to seriously reassess their cleaning protocols and staffing levels. These aren't minor oversights but fundamental failures in hotel operations and guest safety. Due to these serious hygiene issues, I cannot recommend Gate Away Hotel to anyone and will certainly not be returning. A hotel's primary obligation is to provide clean, safe accommodations, and Gate Away completely failed to meet even this basic standard
