⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay at Grand Mercure Sapporo! My recent stay at the Grand Mercure Sapporo was absolutely fantastic, and I can't recommend it enough! It truly provided great value for money. The room was a nice size, feeling spacious and comfortable—a welcome change from typical city hotels. The entire hotel maintained a very good cleanliness standard; everything felt fresh and well-kept, which is always a top priority for me. A true highlight was the food and drink service. The buffet breakfast was great—it included a fantastic selection that genuinely brought a taste of Sapporo to the start of the day. The included late afternoon drinks and evening drinks and snacks was a pleasant surprise that made the evenings relaxing and convenient. The friendly staff deserve a special mention. From check-in to check-out, they were helpful, polite, and always had a smile, making the whole experience feel welcoming and easy. The location is another huge plus. The hotel is situated in a great location for Odori Park—just a short walk away, which was perfect for evening strolls and visiting the seasonal events. Furthermore, its proximity to the underground station made navigating Sapporo incredibly simple and convenient. Overall, a brilliant hotel experience. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Sapporo!

We had a wonderful experience during our stay. We love the room that is big (and not the typical Japanese hotel rooms) and is clean! We love the size of the toilet and bath tub. We enjoyed the cocktails at night to wind down from a tiring day. The location is about 20 mins walk from the city center where the restos and shops are located, either take a cab or walk leisurely at night. I love how it is very accessible to take the airport limousine as there is a bus stop on the side of the hotel.

I had a very pleasant stay here. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the lobby area is stunning — modern, stylish, and a great spot to unwind. One of the highlights was definitely the complimentary afternoon beer and snacks, which made the experience feel extra special. That said, the hotel doesn’t offer many facilities beyond the basics — no swimming pool, gym, sauna, or onsen — so if you’re expecting resort-style amenities, you may find it a bit limited and even slightly boring. Overall, it’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for a central location, comfortable rooms, and great service, but more for relaxation and convenience rather than full leisure facilities.

Quite a spacious room considering the hotel room sizes in Japan. Check in was quite efficient as they send you an email to pre-check in a day or two before your arrival. The hotel is rather dated, therefore the rooms are as well. Yellowish lights, lack of in-room amenities, super soft pillows (not my personal preference) and if you’re not driving, this hotel may be slightly far from the station.
