Haadtien Beach Resort has exclusive access to Koh Tao’s best strip of beach, Thian Og Bay (Shark Bay). The crystal-clear waters make it one of the island’s best snorkelling spots, while the sheltered nature of the bay means you can spend hours on the white sand without weather worries.

The only way to access Koh Tao island is by boat – ferries depart Koh Samui twice daily and take approximately 2.5 hours. The resort is approximately 15 minutes by taxi from the ferry port of Mae Haad or 25 minutes by taxi boat. Update 29 August 11.45am ASET: Renovations will be underway at the inSea restaurant between 10 September and 20 December 2024. Work will commence from 8am–6pm (with noise hours from 10am–5pm), as a result, there will be some construction noise. During this time Happy Hour benefits will be offered on selected items at Capri restaurant and the Beach Bar, and additional shuttle services will be provided between the resort. Mae Haad Pier and Sairee Beach throughout the renovation period. Please note the completion date is subject to change.

Package Inclusions: Inclusions are correct at the time of purchase. Refer to your booking confirmation for details. Please note package inclusions for extra guests vary depending on the rate selected, please choose your package carefully.

Please Note:

  • Scheduled roundtrip transfers from Mae Haad Pier are included in your package. Transfer is via a pick-up truck with bench seating and is not air-conditioned. It’s a 10 to 15-minute drive from the pier to the resort. A representative of the resort will be at the pier to meet all ferries, please notify the hotel of your expected arrival time prior to your stay.

Thailand Sandbox: If all of your destinations are in the Sandbox area, then apply for Thailand Pass under Sandbox program. Guests must stay within Sandbox area for first five days. Find out more here.

The staff is very nice. The view, food, and services is good. The best hotel location you can find in Koh Tao is this hotel. I would suggest the hotel improve the lighting at night along the walk way and train the reception staffs a proper communication skills and services mind. Most of the time, they could use other words to respond to customers complain.

i didn’t stay at the hotel, but i spent the day at their beach and had lunch at the restaurant – and honestly, it was perfect. the beach was clean, peaceful, and had such a nice vibe. staff were super welcoming even though i wasn’t a guest. the food at the restaurant was delicious and came with an amazing view. definitely recommend stopping by even if you’re not staying here!

Beautiful resort and lanscape with nice private beach. However, definitely NOT a 4-star one with their service and management in my opinion. Misleading sales staff : We booked 2 Thai-tiew-thai packages (getaway villa), which are for 4 nights. Each include 1 complimentary dinner set and 1 snorkelling join trip. The sales staff who helped us with vouchers purchase informed us that the dinner sets and snorkelling trips are interchangeble (can choose to have all 4 dinners or 4 snorkelling trips or a mix of both later when we arrive at the resort). However, the onsite staff are unaware of this at all and requested us to contact the reservations BY OURSELVES. Later, we were told that there is no such offer -- we either take it or leave it -- since we do not have any written evidence to prove this. (And, for the record, we have not received any email confirmation when we did purchase the vouchers lol). Shuttle service : the resort provides 3 rounds of shuttle to Sai-ree beach BUT ONLY 1 ROUND BACK TO HOTEL. I undrestand that this is a extra-service but it doesn't make any sense to me. Since it is impossible to walk back to hotel (the paassge is very steep and dark at night). So, make sure you book the round-trip service in advance, otherewise you will have to pay minimum of 400 baht per one-way trip back to the resort ! Service : Some of the staff are really nice (espcially the waiter at the restaurant during night shift), but majority of the staff here seriously lack service mind and do not know how to communicate to guests properly. The driving staff who is in charge of picking up/dropping off between resort and pier address us as "น้อง" or "Bro" in english which sounds weird to us first of all. Second, they asked us to carry the heavy bag (with my diving gears). We were ok at first since we thought it would be only for a while. Turned out, we had to carried by ourselved from pier to reception.

Avoid this hotel – one of the worst experiences we ever had! We stayed at Haadtien Beach Resort and our experience was a complete disaster from start to finish. 1️⃣ Room condition – Our villa was a 10-minute uphill walk from the lobby, which was already very inconvenient. Upon arrival, we found blood stains and hair on the mosquito net, and stains on the bedsheets (with photos as proof). Totally unacceptable for a so-called 4-star resort. 2️⃣ Housekeeping & towels – On the second day, we requested fresh beach towels before going out, as it was too difficult to walk back up to the room later. The staff refused, telling us that towels would only be available at 12:00, and insisted we reuse wet towels from the previous day. After 10 minutes of arguing, they finally sent someone to collect the old ones from our room. Absolutely shocking lack of service. 3️⃣ Service on check-out day – When it was time to leave, a staff member carried our luggage, but to our surprise, we later found out that our bags had been left alone at the pier for over 1 hour and 15 minutes without any supervision or explanation. This is outrageous and unacceptable for guest security. 4️⃣ Breakfast – The breakfast was appalling. Glasses were dirty (I had to ask them to be washed again), the food quality was poor, and the service was more like a cafeteria than a 4-star resort. Staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. At 10:00, they literally cleared everything away without caring about guests still eating. 5️⃣ Last incident – On our last day, my husband ordered an iced latte, only to find watermelon seeds floating inside the drink. How is that even possible? ⚠️ This hotel is marketed as a luxury 4-star resort, but in reality, it is a disgrace. Poor hygiene, unprofessional staff, zero customer service, and a complete lack of care for guests. We travel often and this is honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had. Do not waste your money here. Too bad we can’t give 0 stars on Google.
