An iconic beacon of style in an ever-evolving Downtown Los Angeles, the Hotel Figueroa’s roots as a bastion of social progress and creativity run deep. First built a century ago as a property for professional female travellers before being converted into a Moroccan-styled retreat, this long-standing hotel’s current incarnation pays tribute to its rich history with a strong emphasis on women’s art and Spanish colonial glory, complete with arches, tiling and rustic wooden beams. Having recently completed a two-year restoration, heritage is kept alive throughout, not only in the preservation of original architectural details but with high-ceilings and a chic coffin-shaped pool nestled within a botanical oasis. Each room is also uniquely decorated using cream, mahogany and azure colours with accents such as books and contemporary artwork for a relaxed, authentic feel.
