The hotel rooms were very nice and clean. We did not have a view, but the upstairs floors have a view. It’s very well located in Queenstown the hill that you walk up to get to the hotel is not so bad after all. At first glance, it seems like a lot. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Brought our car around to the minute we asked for it. We had a very nice stay.

What a view! This is, of course, the first thing that stands out, but it is not the only reason e enjoyed our stay. The staff, from the bellhop (are they still called that?) that took our bags upon arrival, through to the receptionists and the staff in the restaurant, were all friendly and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We felt that they really wanted us to enjoy our stay right up to the very second we left. The room was clean and neat, and the king bed was super comfortable. I was sharing with my sister, and neither of us share well, but we had no problem whatsoever. We barely felt when the other moved. Our package included the bathrobes to keep (and they are a lovely soft material) and a couple of bottles of sparkling wine (we had 2 vouchers, hence 2 bottles). The first bottle was there waiting for us, on ice, when we arrived, and reception arranged for the second bottle to be delivered further into our stay. It was delivered as promised, once again on ice. The shower is a decent size, and the water flow and temperature was good. Our only (very minor) issue the whole stay was our toilet kept running and, despite a visit from maintenance, it never really got fixed. Breakfast in the restaurant is a pretty good buffet selection, plus cook-to-order eggs/omelets or pancakes. The omelets were good (but we would like to suggest onion and capsicum as additional options to go in them) and the pancakes (we had the berry ones) were delicious! Everything was kept well stocked and was usually warm, if not hot. The position of the hotel worked well for us, being within walking distance of everything we needed to get to in town, and close to Steamer Wharf and restaurants, however be aware that walking back you will need to walk up a relatively steep hill. It will depend on your fitness levels, obviously, but we found it a bit of a hike and not exactly an enjoyable end to an evening! Still, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

A belated review from our trip back in August. First off shout out to Lou and Daniel from reception/concierge, and Connor and Adelaide from the restaurant - they truly made our stay welcoming and most enjoyable and added to our experience with their stellar service. Great hotel that is about a 7min walk from the centre of town (Patagonia icecream side), nice and central but a little bit out so its nice and quiet. There is quite a steep hill walking back to the hotel from the city (good to walk off dinner but a bit hard if you have suitcases). Situated infront of the lake, you get gorgeous views of the lake from the restaurant/reception area and walking into town. Definitely have a meal at the restaurant and take a gorgeous walk along the lake. We were staying for 7 nights and were generously given an upgrade to a suite (thank you Lou!). Rooms were alpine-cabin themed but everything was newly redone and extremely clean. Housekeeping is so lovely also, they leave notes on your bed after cleaning-up and you can write back notes if you have specific requests about your preferences. Restaurant food was fabulous, better than what we would eat in town so we had many of our meals there, and as an Accor member you get a discount. We tried almost everything on the menu! It may be seasonal but the highlights were seafood chowder, Jerusalem artichoke soup, all the mains were fantastic too. Only thing is the portions are HUGE lol so we usually couldn’t finish all the food or were absolutely stuffed - not a bad problem to have i guess. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful with giving us recommendations and organising activities. Doorman was always greeting us coming in/out. You can also take the local bus to the airport from the bus stops down on the street level. I would recommend this hotel based on the location and rooms alone, however the service, staff and food by far topped it!

Just back from a fantastic holiday in the South Island. We were meant to be staying for two nights in Queenstown at Hotel St Moritz but an avalanche on the road to Milford Sound changed our plans. The staff were really helpful in arranging our extra night so we didn't have to change rooms. All the staff were lovely. Very helpful when we asked but not in your face all the time. The bar/restaurant is a wonderful space with big comfy chairs and tables at the window to allow you to take in the spectacular views. Breakfasts were good and we had one evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent. The room was clean and tidy with good space in the bathroom. Everything you need when you're staying somewhere so beautiful with a lovely view of the lake. I highly recommend the hotel and I'll definitely be booking again; we're planning our next trip already. We hired a car at the airport and booking parking before hand is recommended.
