Sample top-shelf spirits at the Hunter Distillery or head to one of the area’s many wineries – nearby Brokenwood Wines, Piggs Peake Winery and Tyrrell’s Wines are our favourites – to taste the local wine. Try some amazing local produce, including mayonnaise and tapenade at Pukara Estate, or simply head to a cosy pub like Goldfish Hunter Valley Restaurant, Circa 1876 or Harrigan’s Irish Pub for a hearty meal.
Nature lovers might also want to arrange an early morning hot-air balloon ride, go horse riding or explore one of the area’s many walking and cycling trails.
