This resort is fantastic for families and couples alike. The sanctuary rooms with the reservoir view are beautiful and offer stunning views. We cannot thank the hotel staff enough for making our stay so memorable and comfortable. Everyone works super hard behind the scenes to ensure our comfort. With special thanks to the restaurant staff, manager, Fifi and very grateful to the wonderful chef KY who ensured our special dietary requirements were met and all staff behind the scenes working hard to accommodate us including James (lobby), Chris, Jasmin and others (restaurant). In the spa a special thanks to Ruby and also the lovely classes and workshops you can attend. For nature loving people this resort offers nature on your doorstep with friendly, caring and kind staff. Forever grateful to you all for making my wife's birthday so special.

What stood out for us were: (1) the breakfast - great spread and quality. The champagne selection was a surprising addition - it definitely made the experience so much more fun; (2) the views and environment were amazing. Singapore really can be beautiful; (3) the recyclable bottle and water dispenser in the room - great sustainable idea that more hotels should adopt; (4) service is pretty good - especially check in and restaurants. Downsides: (1) there could be a lot more facilities and activities given the location - maybe guided nature walks? There’s so much nature around and it’s a wasted opportunity not to educate people about it; (2) room balconies are such a wasted opportunity too. The views are so good but you can’t experience it beyond the insides of the room. Overall, a great experience. Here’s hoping you find success!

We recently celebrated our child’s birthday during our staycation and truly appreciated the thoughtful touches—the lovely cake, light decorations, and a birthday card from the Kids Club staff made it extra special. Highlights: • The access card is nicely designed and was given as a complimentary keepsake at checkout. My son absolutely loved it—it made a great souvenir from the trip. Room for improvement: 1. The loft bed mattress was quite uncomfortable. We suspect it may have been placed upside down. 2. There was a spider web and a small spider at the corner of the loft bed, which was unpleasant. 3. While the flooring has a pleasant texture and appearance, it felt a bit dusty upon arrival. Service: 1. The check-in and check-out process was relatively fast, which I appreciated. However, I believe it could be even smoother with better integration between the online system and the front desk operations. For example, even after submitting my information online, I was still asked to present my card again at the counter. 2. I completed the online check-out process, but still end up go to the service desk to return the cards and checkout, where asked to present the card again. This made the process feel redundant. It would be more efficient if the online system were better integrated with front desk procedures, and if guests were clearly informed about whether any in-person steps are still required. 3. Overall, the service did not quite meet the high standards typically associated with Banyan Tree. Location: • The location is excellent—close to the zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, and a variety of restaurants.

We visited Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree over the weekend with my family. Since the resort is quite new, the facilities were very clean and well-maintained. Although I’ve been to Mandai many times to visit the Singapore Zoo and Bird Paradise, this was my first time coming to the resort area. We arrived by taxi, and check-in was not the smoothest experience. The kiosk wasn’t functioning properly, and since the lobby is an open-air space, my 3-year-old son had a hard time waiting. Thankfully, the staff were very kind and assisted us through the process, which helped a lot. In the afternoon, we tried the swimming pool. It wasn’t particularly special — the pool was smaller than expected, and there weren’t many sunbeds, so it could get uncomfortable when more guests arrived. Still, swimming while overlooking the rainforest was a unique and refreshing experience. The room itself wasn’t extraordinary, though I appreciated the sustainability efforts, such as limiting the temperature control to not go below 24°C. We completely understood the intent, but the touchscreen control panel kept malfunctioning, which made things a bit inconvenient. For dinner and breakfast, we had the buffet at the same venue. The food was not bad at all, though the variety was limited, and the wine selection felt a bit lacking. On the positive side, the portions were generous, which we appreciated. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I’m not sure if we’ll return. With so many excellent hotels in the city and better options in nearby countries at a similar price point, it may not be our first choice next time.
