Great hotel close to the marina and restaurants with amazing customer service! They allowed us to keep our extra bags in their storage space when we went aboard one of the live aboard reef boats, which was very helpful! They were very friendly and took care of us well. The room was very comfortable, clean, and well appointed.

This was our first Mantra experience. So not sure if this is expected. Issues with our stay: 1. They do room service only once every 7 days. So if you are staying for less they don't clean or replace bedsheets etc. you have to pay 45$. I feel they should do it at least once every 2-3 days. 2. It doesn't have breakfast. So Any platinum membership etc. free breakfast is not available. 3. Even though I am a platinum membership no upgrade or higher floor was provided. 4. I was told that I can't pay for additional money using Accor points. This was a surprise to me. 5. It is a great location but I would say the service is fairly ordinary. Not sure if this is what one expects in Mantra properties. The owner has replied below saying we should have been given a complimentary breakfast! This just shows the lack of training that Accor needs to do to their property brand people. I specifically asked if the breakfast was complimentary and also I asked if the additional charges of cleaning which we took after 3 days can be paid using points but I was told no. I asked the reception person to check with the manager and he confirmed that the answer was no! Not sure what one does in such situations:-).

This week we stayed for 2 nights on our way home from Uluru. We chose Cairns, and this hotel, as a chance to relax and do nothing after a big holiday, and before getting back to the work grind. We specifically chose this hotel for the pool, given the beautiful Cairns weather we wanted to relax by the pool with drinks and do nothing for 2 days. The pool is tucked behind the building, in a corner. It gets zero sun on the pool deck - all day long. No morning sun, no afternoon sun. It was really disappointing given this is the only reason we chose this hotel. Outside of this, the room was "fine" but quite dated. Beautiful view though.
