Family of 4, with 12 and 14yo boys, stayed two nights. Impressed by the size of the apartment, and appreciated the full facilities including kitchen and washing machine. The included breakfast was great, as was the pool and spa. Really the best of both worlds of a hotel and an Airbnb. Great location 2 minutes from the south bank, too

My husband and l, celebrated our birthdays there recently and we were looked after by Patrick, who went over and beyond to make sure my husband's 60th was extra special. This is the second year we have been there and it looks like it will be our tradition from now on. The rooms are large, clean and have everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom. Stay there as you will not regret it. Thank you to all the staff at The Mantra Southbank, for looking after us. It was much appreciated. 😀

Awesome stay at Mantra Southbank. Location was fantastic, just off City Road so didn't have to go all the way into the city. Secure, underground parking, ment we parked and walked everywhere. Short walk into CBD, 10 min walk to Crown and a little further to DFO. Great, central location. Beautiful breakfast enjoyed by our family, hot foods, eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, tomato, pastries, pancakes, fruit, juice, toast, the works. Really yum. Reception eager to please, 2 bed room apartment was comfortable and spacious. Kitchen was good, although we had no coffee. The coffee in the restaurant made up for that. Pool was a good temperature, spa nice and hot and the sauna was great too. Pool towels supplied, and gym available. Very comfortable stay. Cracked tiles in bathroom took off a star. Otherwise very impressed.

A Masterclass in Filth: My stay at the “cleanliness is not their Mantra” Hotel You know that feeling when you walk into a room and immediately question every life choice that brought you there? That was me, standing in the bathroom (And let's be honest everywhere) of my room at the Mantra Southbank Melbourne . The walls had dirty spots all over, the fridge hadn't been cleaned out since the last guest (brocolli was clearly a favourite of those who last dared to stay here), the spray and wipe clearly ran out prior to cleaning out the shower and tub, and clearly the cleaners thought that anything that couldn't actually be seen (think inside of the kitchen drawers) magically had cleaned themselves. I complained at the front desk early the next morning to which I was promised a 'deep clean' would occur while I was out on business all day. Not too sure what the Mantra’s version of a deep clean is but pretty sure it wouldn't pass the Oxford dictionary definition. When I returned the broccoli remains had been cleared - but actually not fully - but little else had been addressed. Pros: 1. Great for testing your immune system. 2. Wi-Fi strong enough to Google “nearest sanitiser available' Cons: Everything else. Final rating One star, because the lights actually turned on - and I can't provide a 0. Would recommend only if you’ve lost a bet, are conducting a germ study, or want to truly appreciate the concept of “clean” ever again. Disgusting Mantra. For the price, you can get a much better hotel - don't stay here.
