I always book at Mercure Blacktown every time I go over to Sydney from Hawaii for a vacation. Christine is the cook the morning buffet you will always see her busy replenishing the food she is always so nice and humble she takes the time to talk to us from the first time that we stayed at Blacktown Mercure. The buffet is open daily for a reasonable fee even if you are not a guest of the hotel. The location for me is good the rooms were always clean, fresh towels beds made, even if you need towels during the night just ring the front desk they will bring it. The staff there is always so helpful to me as I always checked in before after hours, one time I had to use the self check in it was easy to use and there was always someone there to help if I needed help. The outside dining area has a big grass are where our kids enjoyed running around burning off energy

Short and pleasant, staff were friendly and helped us check in. Room was nice and clean and tidy. Bathroom could use some renovating, particularly the floor tiles. Otherwise great stay. And the beds were really comfy!

Stayed here a while ago and thought I’d finally share my thoughts. The room itself was pretty spacious and had a nice view, which I liked. It’s also right across from a bus stop, so getting around was really convenient. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful — big plus there. But there were quite a few things that made the stay feel off. When I checked in, I was given a key card to a room that was already occupied — I walked in on a sleeping couple, which was super awkward and made me feel uneasy for the rest of my stay. The room looked clean at a glance but was actually a bit dusty, and I found a vape inside the safe box, which made me question how thorough the cleaning was. Some of the younger staff seemed to rush through cleaning, but the older staff definitely knew what they were doing and did a much better job. Breakfast was exactly the same every morning — not bad, but definitely repetitive. I was also warned by staff to be careful outside the hotel because of some shady people around the area. The hotel itself felt secure, but the surroundings weren’t super comforting, especially if you’re coming back late. Overall, the location and staff friendliness were solid, but the mix-up at check-in, cleanliness issues, and outdoor safety concerns left me feeling a bit uneasy. Just a heads-up for future guests — there’s potential here, but also a few things to be aware of.

We stayed two nights at the Mercure Sydney Blacktown. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby was clean. We checked ourselves in using the self service kiosk. They offer breakfast for a charge, as well as 24 hour room service. We ordered the pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, strawberry milkshake and garlic bread. I added “chargrilled chicken” to my Caesar salad, but when it came to the room, the chicken was fried and cold. I also asked for extra Caesar dressing which I did not receive. The egg on the salad also still had some hard shell left on it. The garlic bread butter was still frozen and had not been cooked or heated whatsoever. Upon checkout, the staff were happy to assist us and tried to make things right regarding the room service. They encouraged feedback and were very receptive to everything that I told them. It was roughly 40-45 minutes to get to downtown Sydney. It was an hour to 1.5 hours using public transportation. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, which was convenient. There is a 24 hour McDonald’s right beside the hotel as well. The rooms were not the quietest, as we could hear the neighboring rooms television.
