I recently stayed at mercure kuala lumpur shaw parade hotel, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I checked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming, but it was the housekeeping team md Ashik that truly made my experience stand out. The housekeeping staff was courteous and professional, always with a smile on their faces. I enjoyed the stay in the hotel! The room is quiet and comfortable, they even have water dispensers in rooms! This is the first time in my life that I see a hotel equipped it in SEA area! The view from the room is also amazing, you can see the crowd of DT KL while waiting for elevators. The hotel is located around Chinatown so it is easy to get some local food in walking distance, but it is 15-20mins walk to TRX/Pavilion Mall.

The Mercure Shaw Parade occupies a clever, strategic position in KL. It's close enough to the Pavilion/KLCC bustle that you can quickly dive into the city’s major retail and business arteries, but crucially, it’s far enough removed that you don't spend half your trip gridlocked in central traffic—a major advantage for anyone who values their time and sanity. The proximity to the newer TRX mall provides a fresh, convenient anchor, confirming this spot is firmly rooted in modern utility. It feels like a grown-up choice, balancing access with actual peace and quiet. ​As a Gold member, the experience was commendably smooth. The welcome touch of a Starbucks voucher rather than the standard generic drink was a thoughtful, appreciated gesture. The subsequent one-tier room upgrade was instantly noticeable; the space was generous, and the provisions were excellent. Having both a proper coffee machine and a designated water fountain (a small detail that eliminates single-use plastic hassle) immediately elevates the convenience factor. Coupled with genuinely good quality toilet amenities, they clearly understand that the small luxuries are what define a comfortable, effortless stay. ​The immediate neighborhood enhances the experience significantly. While the hotel serves the city well, the surrounding blocks offer genuine local utility, not just noise. There’s a pleasant, localized buzz, anchored by a 7-Eleven and, more importantly, a few pockets of excellent Chinese eateries nearby, which means quality, quick dining is always within a stone's throw. For seasoned travelers seeking a refined, connected, yet remarkably relaxed base that skillfully avoids the central city’s most tedious jams, the Mercure Shaw Parade is a highly recommended, modern, and practical option.

Check in was smooth, but no welcome drink. Room was very good, and clean, and bonus we get upgraded. There are complimentary refillable drinks every day in mini bar, coffee machine and drinking water machine for both hot and cold water. Staff is polite, courteous, and location of hotel is very good. Room service is mix bag, some times we get response on time, but some times they often forget it, I am still waiting for my Loofah. Now biggest concern for us is food. Breakfast is continental with some local flavour, but menu for vegetarian/vegan is very limited, you are left only with breads, fruits, some salads, yogurt, cereals, 1-2 dishes but taste is very bland for our liking. We stayed for four nights, and on last day we just have only breads and fruits, as everything has eggs in it. Will appreciate if hotel can consider to improve the quality for vegetarians / vegans, as most of big brands hotels do cater to that audience too. We travel and stay lots on Marriot and Hilton, and this is where I think its a big let down, their staff always go above and beyond to make sure guests have good time, I have instances in Vietnam/Europe where hotel has prepared special meals catering to our needs. Also, things can improved a little on hospitality side, where servers can show bit more interests in serving, most of good places knows guests names on second and third day, small details but adds on the experience. We also had a dinner, where portions were less, pasta was good, but fried rice quantity was very less.
