We had two overnight stays at the Townsville Mercure, one on our way down to Airlie Beach on the motorcycle and one on the way back to Cairns a few days later. Both stays were great. The rooms are always clean and well-appointed and comfortable when we stay here. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant and breakfast on one occasion. The food was nice, tasty and the menu has a good variety. The drinks from the bar were well priced and also provided a good variety. The staff on both occasions were professional yet friendly. I would highly recommend this accommodation if staying in Townsville.

Stay here one night in a lovely lake view bungalow. Check in was quick and staff friendly and helpful. We did not have a car, reception staff arrange our luggage to be taken to the bungalow as it was a little walk. Would highly recommend a bungalow, especially one overlooking the lake - number 10 was brilliant. The bungalow appeared very new with lovely furnishings. It was clean and aircon was on when we arrived. It was great to sit on the deck and relax watching the RC yacht club across the water! We checked out early the next morning and the reception staff went above and beyond to bring us a porters trolley to help with our bags, as well as booking and confirming a taxi for us to the airport. We didn’t end up using the pool, but it had a friendly family vibe which suited us. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to stop over in Townsville.
