A really well-located Mercure which was cheaper (and nicer) than many of those hotels in less-desirable / central locations. Had a twin single room which was well laid out to compensate for being a little small. Decor could use a bit of a refresh but this is purely cosmetic. Amenities were great and the room / hotel was clean. Would 100% stay again.

A good location in the heart of Chinatown. Room was quiet & spacious, but dated. The carpet felt thin & well worn and the bed wasn't as comfortable as some of the others places I've stayed in the mercure brand. Staff were friendly and check in/out was fast and efficient. The view from the room is pretty poor. Really just for light. Bathroom seemed small but functional. Usual coffee, tea, fridge, iron & safe in the room. Ok for a short stay.

Room was smaller than expected and you could feel every spring in the mattress. Ended up having to put two duvets under the fitted sheet as they had no other rooms available and our room booking was non refundable. Found stains on the duvets, however as they were covered by the sheets we didn’t bother complaining about them Also found that the water temp in the shower constantly changed between hot and cold. Couldn’t hear neighbouring rooms thankfully, but could hear everything in the hallway. Anytime someone opened their door, it also made our door sound like it was opening which made it hard to relax/feel like we had privacy. Housekeeping didn’t go through on a regular basis, think we only had 2 housekeeping visits during our 9 day stay, and they only made the bed, didn’t replace or top up anything. Had to call reception twice to get new towels and more toilet paper.

The room was clean & service exceptional! The bed was very uncomfortable however for the second night of my stay they added a comforter for the mattress which was a great improvement! I appreciate the staff for offering this as a solution and being so prompt with actioning the request. The hotel breakfast was great with all the standards of a hotel buffet. Great seating overlooking the early morning walkers & high end shops. Location was the absolute winner here - easy to catch trams, easy access for Ubers, loads of shopping options within walking distance! While the room was a little tired & barely furnished, overall it was a pleasant experience
