We travel to Cairns regularly, as it is the central city to our region. We are always greeted with great service and a relaxing atmosphere. We love the literal Oasis in the city, we can escape if needed or head on out to do our chores. But h The level of guest service we receive is what always brings us back.

Some great things about this hotel but some frustrations too. - awesome pool, great size. But not enough pool chairs for the size of the pool/number of hotel guests so you feel you have to race to the pool to get a seat. - internet/wifi never seems to work. Had issues with it and gone back to 5G the last 6 days. Not helpful for international travellers who rely on the wifi. - rooms a great size and don’t feel crammed with suitcases on the floor. - showers nice and hot and good pressure -this is a key for me! - great location - two blocks from the esplanade, only like 7min walk so super close. And then 3 blocks from the central shopping centre and Kuranda scenic railway. - one lift has been broken the whole time so meant slow to get to your room or reception during peak hours. Annoyingly no note on the lift to advise patrons, I had to ask if there was an issue and they said they’re waiting on parts. - great size fridge if you want to store some food in there (no mini bar taking up space). - didn’t have the buffet breakfast as it was too $ and not included, so gave it a miss. - great to have the swim up bar/food available by the pool. - Pool open too late for my liking, trying to get my daughter to sleep and could hear playing and screaming from kids and adults drinking /playing in the pool at 9:30pm. - my daughter left her soft toy and pyjamas on the bed and we returned to a note saying they couldn’t make our bed as they weren’t allowed to touch our belongings - never had that at a hotel before. Also had towels taken by house keeping but not replaced, so a little odd. - had some fun activities for kids during the school holiday period, including craft, movies and sandcastle competition building (note, no kids club specifically which I read somewhere). - check-in process okay but at 2pm core check-in time only 2 of the 4 stations were open, so very slow. Not ideal after a 5am alarm and hours of travel. - I would stay again if I came back.

Positives Amazing location, a 2 minute walk to the esplanade. Nice food at the restaurant with decent prices. Pool and swim up bar was excellent. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Seemed to have lots of fun stuff happening for kids as it was school holidays. Room was a little old but it didn’t matter because it was very clean and neat and had everything you needed. Downfalls Stayed for 9 nights. 2 out of those nine we had our dirty towels taken and no clean ones brought back. Had to go to reception after 2 long days and wait for them to bring us fresh towels so we could have a shower. The restaurant had really nice food but we waited over 45 minutes one night for our food. Staff were very apologetic. Had a room on the ground floor, right near the pool and elevator. It was a shared balcony with the room next to us, with a table and one chair for us to use, so we had to borrow a chair from next doors every time we wanted to sit outside. Every morning we woke up at around 6 ish with kids screaming outside our room, heading off to the pool out for the day (not blaming them at all) you could just hear absolutely everything from the room. Overall, I would stay here again but would definitely request a room off the ground floor to avoid the foot traffic outside the door and so you could potentially have your own balcony.
