Novotel Sydney Darling Square

I had a lovely stay with my two children. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and also the buffet breakfast that I added on. Allowing two children to eat free with one adult is a blessing for a single mum. The hotel was really easy to access via the light rail, and was only about 5/10 minutes walk to lots of fun activities at Darling Harbour.

We had an amazing stay here over the weekend. The whole city was very busy with the Sydney Marathon on - and this hotel was just perfect. The rooms were new and fresh with plenty of space and light - with quality amenities. The pool and gym were fabulous - and room service for dinner and the buffet breakfast downstairs delicious. The location was just perfect with a myriad of restaurants right on your doorstep and amazing shops a few minutes walk away. We’re already planning our next stay! Thank you to all the staff who were so helpful and friendly - and nice to see the GM of the hotel frequently assisting staff and greeting guests. We’ll see you again soon! The O’Neiles

Overall Stay: My stay at this hotel was adequate, but there are several areas for improvement. Check-In & Facilities: I arrived at 10 am and, despite my Accor status, was not offered an early check-in or an alternative solution. It would be helpful if the hotel provided a quiet space for guests to take calls or hold meetings while waiting for rooms to become available. Location: The location is excellent, especially for those attending events at the conference centre or visiting Chinatown. Fitness Facilities: The gym is very small and lacks sufficient equipment for a full-body workout, which meant I had to shorten my exercise session. Room Quality: The rooms are a good size, and the beds are comfortable. However, there is no coffee machine provided—only instant coffee. I was also missing a robe, which may be available upon calling reception, but I only released after getting out of the shower. While the room was generally clean, the light switches were visibly dirty and the shower grout had orange staining. Room Service: Room service has been consistently disappointing during both of my stays. I have waited over an hour for food on both occasions, and menu items (including barramundi and white wine) were unavailable, requiring me to change my entire order. The steak I received instead was cold and chewy. I would not recommend ordering room service at this property. My room has also been entered while I have had the do not disturb light on.

Good location. The executive room was spacious and clean except for the bath robes. Take your own hairdryer. The one supplied is dirty, sticky, does not work well (including the replacement I asked for). The two lifts are glacial in speed and crowded like sardines at high traffic times. The cooked breakfast is cold and inedible. Choose one of the many close-by breakfast places instead.
