I’ve stayed at Novotel Darling Square a few times — great location and amenities. On this occasion, we were glad to be able to check in early, but the first room we received had a broken TV shelf. I asked to have the room replaced, and fortunately, there was another room ready for us to rest in. Breakfast was okay, especially if added upon check-in as you get a discounted rate — kids eat free too, which is a nice touch. However, we ordered poached eggs that took a very long time to arrive. We later realised our order had been given to another table who had just arrived. My husband went to ask the waiter where our order went, but there was no apology, and it took even longer for the eggs to be served. We only received an apology when the eggs were finally delivered, but by then we had already eaten other food and lost our appetite. Hospitality at five-star hotels is expected to be top-notch, but it seems standards have dropped in recent times. I hope this feedback helps improve the service. I’d still love to come back, enjoy my stay, and see you thrive.

Looks like the rooms have been refreshed and pretty updated. Location is magic, right at the bottom of Chinatown and having the Pumphouse accessible from first floor is so good. Can recommend!

Room was tidy and a good size and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom is a little old but was clean. No offering of generic items like toothbrushes etc. The charging cords in the room are a great idea and saved me as I'd forgotten mine! The staff were engaging, friendly and very helpful. Great location

What a great location and venue to stay at, comfortable beds, friendly staff great facilities. We stayed for three nights for a quick Sydney visit as a family and had a ball. We had breakfast as part of our package which was excellent until the last morning when there was hardly any food, one had to search to find plates, extra cutlery, no fruit juice it was unworthy of such an establishment. The staff were very apologetic but no sign of a manager or the like to help the scenario.
