We hadn’t visited Maggie for years, so we booked two nights. The resort is beside the ferry terminal, with bus stop, shops, restaurants etc right there. Day ticket on the bus $1 each. Boardwalk restaurant was superb (dinner and 2 breakfasts). Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Two swimming pools. All staff were friendly and efficient. The weather was great. We loved it, and will return.

Large sized hotel room with plenty of space, separate bathroom. (The room was not cluttered) Located about 30m from ferry terminal. The buffet breakfast is well worth the price of included with the room. Only negative is that you have to pay for barista style coffee.

I don’t understand the good rating of the hotel or why it is advertised as a 4 star hotel. The staff was friendly but not very helpful or competent. The receptionist for example told us that the restaurant was closed and we couldn’t eat there, when her college corrected her and said that it was in fact open. When being asked about a name tag for our luggage, she told us that they don’t have any, just to be reminded by her college that they in fact offered them. Those are just some examples on the lack of knowledge and service. The biggest turndown was the lack of cleanliness as well as lack of food quality. The rooms were very worn down and the sheets had stains on them. Moreover, the food at dinner as well as breakfast was terrible. Some of the worst food I ever tasted. The dinner was Italian themed but I think the chef never tasted good Italian food. The garlic bred was definetly defrosted and not self made for example. The breakfast buffet was very messy and not appealing at all. We definitely won’t be returning and can’t recommend this hotel.
