Wonderful stay in an amazing location. Spent 2 nights in a spa cabin. Good size room with a verandah to enjoy the bush views and the wildlife. Wood fire that was prepared with kindling and fire lighters. The tavern and Highland Restaurant offered comfortable dining and warm fires.

A must visit area of Tasmania and Cradle Mountain lodge is right on the doorstep of the National Park. The rooms are comfortable and the gas fire helps keep the room cosy on a good winters day. Excellent facilities, the Enchanted Walk and King Billy Walk are both stunning. Excellent restaurant and tavern attached to the lodge. Plenty of wild life exploring around the cabins. The bottle of wine and chocolates were a welcome surprise. It has been 30 years since I last stayed here and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic stay at Cradle Mountain lodge in a pencil pine room. We almost didn't book based on the negative reviews, but glad we did. The staff were great and helped with local walks and explained the process for the bus to Dove lake and the national park. The room was very good, well maintained, clean, peaceful and no tv, which was great to actually relax. Fully stocked mini bar and lovely gas fireplace. While the room didn't look newly renovated, it was very comfortable, modern and fits with the style of the whole complex. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant, with the 2 course set menu also including complementary bread, a side and petit fours. We didn't need desert. The wine list was superb and open fire going in both the restaurant and tavern next door. Breakfast was included which we didn't realise when booking which included a barista coffee, cooked options, pastries, fruit and cereal. Overall an excellent experience.

For $850/ night it feels like a rip off. The fact that there is not much accommodation around, price are marked up so high that it does not justify the price and service amenities provided. No slippers/ no hairdryer. Breakfast is charged at $40 each. Very basic breakfast. I am lactose and gluten intolerant, I do not have much options, except a corner with porridge but has milk inside. My coffee did not come for 40 minutes, I have to wait at the bar. Better bring your own food as they charge the food really expensive at the bar and restaurant- no alacarte at the restaurant they charged $100-150 for a standard 2 course,3 course meal. My burger at the bar cost $38. They mixed our salad up but we have to pay for it. If the price of accommodation is $300-$400, yes it’s okay. But for an $850 accommodation and $40 breakfast and burger. I think they should reevaluate the pricing or upgrade the service standard.
