Reykjavik Lights by Keahotels sits on the edge of the city centre, facing the Laugavegur Valley and its variety of outdoor activities (including Iceland’s largest outdoor thermal pool). It’s within walking distance of the shopping, restaurants and cafes of Laugavegur high street, and local buses regularly depart outside the hotel. The hotel is 50km from Reykjavik’s Keflavik International Airport. Transfers are not included, please plan accordingly.

Reykjavik Lights Hotel was the perfect choice for my first accommodation in Iceland. I arrived earlier than the official check-in time, and the friendly staff kindly offered me a different room so I could rest after my journey. That kind of hospitality truly made a difference! The hotel’s interior is stunning – modern, fresh, and beautifully designed with subtle Nordic touches that create a calm and welcoming atmosphere. Every morning, I looked forward to the rich and delicious breakfast, which offered a great variety – from fresh pastries to Icelandic specialties. One of the highlights was the hotel’s location. It’s close to the shoreline, so my early morning runs along the coast were absolutely magical – fresh air, ocean views, and the peaceful vibe of the city gave me energy for the whole day. Overall, it was an exceptional experience that set the bar high for all my future travels. I’d love to come back again!

We stayed here two different times on our trip. Rooms were very warm but the window cooled it off. One of our rooms felt larger than the other but both were very modern and clean! The staff were so nice and helpful. Breakfast had good variety! Only 5-10 mins or so from the city. I would probably give this 4.5/5 but rounded up because the staff was so great.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They do have luggage hold. Hotel was very clean. The rooms were excellent and clean. Breakfast had a range of food and the staff restocked constantly without having to be asked. Great location. I didn't have any issues at all. Check in was easy and seemless. Free parking if you have a car with parking in front of the hotel or in a garage. Has loads of food places near the hotel (a restaurant is located next door to the hotel). If you have tickets for the hop and stop, the bus stop is located about two blocks away (same side as the hotel). The bus stop is in front of the Hilton hotel.

A simple basic hotel but the (small) room was clean and well presented. I had a view of the cruise terminal and in the other direction downtown (101) is about a 30 minute walk. Lovely staff, the breakfast buffet was basic but very tasty. There are other restaurants and coffee shops in the immediate area.
