We stayed there for one night. We found it excellent value for money. The room had two double beds for the three of us. It was good and large. Very clean and well maintained. Coffee, tea and even milk and wine glasses provided too. The resort has a pool and even a mega chess set. It also has a restaurant and bar which we didn’t try out. Very good service. Plenty of parking. Woods all around. Highly recommended for those on a budget.

We stayed here for a long weekend and was great! The staff are lovely with an easy check in process. The pool and outdoor areas are tidy and nice to spend time around. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. Beds were comfortable and clean. The lounge area is alright, could be a bit brighter. We also had a massive rubbish tip just outside of it which wasn't great to look at but not the end of the world. Easy walking distance to a nice restaurant and pub and short drive to the town center. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed at Grande Escape Resort for a solo retreat, and it couldn’t have been better. The room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable just what I needed to unwind. The staff were warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The peaceful surroundings made it easy to relax, and the location was great for exploring the town and nearby attractions on my own. I left feeling refreshed and would definitely return

I stayed at Grande Escape Resort during the King’s Birthday long weekend (29 September), and what was supposed to be a relaxing trip turned into a very disappointing experience. I received a message at 1 PM saying my room was ready, but due to my travel schedule, I checked in after 5 PM. To my shock, the room was still exactly as left by the previous guest — towels and sheets on the floor, messy bed, and an unclean bathroom. This is clearly shown in the photos I took upon arrival. I immediately notified the front desk; they arranged for quick cleaning and offered me a coffee while I waited, and later a bottle of wine. I appreciated the quick response, but what I wanted was not free wine — it was basic service standards and a fair discount for the inconvenience. After returning to the room, I asked about a discount. I didn’t demand anything specific, just raised the question politely. They told me to bring it up at checkout. The next morning, the manager overheard and came out. Instead of acknowledging the error, he said that since I had accepted the wine, I should accept the situation, and added he’d “never heard of anyone asking for a discount for something like this.” In all my travels, this was the first time I encountered an unprepared room at check-in. It’s not about the amount ($20–$30) — it’s about principle and attitude. This was a clear operational failure, not a matter of “poor recollection” as claimed in their reply. They themselves admitted housekeeping mistakenly marked the room as cleaned. Guests should never have to walk into a dirty room after 5 PM, regardless of how busy the day is. I paid the full amount, and the fact remains: the room was not ready when I arrived. If a guest checks out 15 minutes late, they would likely charge a fee — so why can’t I reasonably ask for a small discount for a late check-in caused by their error? What’s more disappointing than the incident itself is the defensive and accusatory tone of their public reply. Words like “exaggerate the truth,” “vengeful,” and “spiteful” are unnecessarily personal and unprofessional. I never asked for a free stay, and the claim that I did is simply untrue. I don’t care whether it was the manager or owner who came to clean the room quickly — it should never have happened in the first place. My review reflects my experience truthfully. If it were “vengeful,” I wouldn’t have given their location 4 stars, nor would I have mentioned the complimentary coffee and wine. I’m not interested in debating whose memory is “right” — I’m sharing what actually happened, so future guests are aware. This stay left a negative impression, and I will not be returning. (Photos of the room upon arrival attached as evidence.)
