The hotel was in a great location. I was warmly received at the front desk on arrival. I was given an all access room on the second floor.Its was spacious but not much of a view. Only issue I have is the motor outside the window starting intermittently, disrupting my sleep at night.

I stayed at The Porter House Sydney twice during my trip and had a wonderful experience overall. Location: The hotel is centrally located, with easy access to the metro and tram, and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Room: During my first stay, I booked a Superior King Room and was upgraded to a Luxury King Room on my return. The room size is comfortable, and almost everything can be managed through the in-room iPad, which is very convenient. Service: The housekeeping team kept the room spotless throughout my stay. 🌟 I especially want to thank Hieu( Daniel) at the front desk for his exceptional support—he helped locate my child’s suitcase that was left in a taxi and assisted us with booking a Maxi Taxi for our early-morning airport transfer. His coordination with the team ensured we got to the taxi on time. Our arrival and departure from the hotel are much comfortable with his help 🌟

Basic check in experience and didn't get offered to have our bags taken for us but it wasn't a big issue as we only had small bags. Apparently we were given an upgrade as a gold Accor member but the room was still very small. A bottle of red wine was in our room with a hand written note which was a nice gesture but the wine was not drinkable. We didn't use the pool or the gym. The bar closed at 8pm as it was Sunday. The hotel is hard to find and you can easily walk straight past the entrance. Rooms are small but nicely decorated. No door to the bathroom. Just the shower and toilet have individual frosted glass door so if you are sharing with a non-partner, it may be an issue. Good hot water pressure. Robes and slippers were provided but one of the robes had lipstick stains on the sleeve. Again, no big issue as my partner didn't use a robe. Towels were mediocre and scratchy unlike their sister hotel at Sofitel Darling Harbour where we stay frequently and enjoy their oversized fluffy towels. Great bedding and pillows. Unfortunately, the alarm clock went off at 1am and then the ipad alarm went off 12 mins after that completely ruining our sleep. Mould visible in the grout of the shower. At checkout, we didn't even get asked how our stay was, it was just a transaction for the staff member. For one night, the basics were fine for us but it's definitely not your normal 5 star experience.

- Rooms exceptional and extremely clean, comfortable bedding - Breakfast is beyond slow, it took half an hour to get 2 poached eggs, if you ask for the pastries sitting on the counter 2m away (not self service) it takes 20min as does coffee. Also bad service consistently - had packages delivered to hotel, was woken up with call at 10pm to tell me to collect them - gym equipment selection poor, dirty - nice pool , no deckchairs or room to sit - however Anna at bar truly exceptional! - granted loyalty room upgrade to another room in same category with same name?
