We had a truly memorable visit at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort, and what made it exceptional was the staff, especially Dwayne and Meagan. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care elevated our entire experience. From the moment we arrived, they went above and beyond in every way, making us feel not just welcome, but valued. The resort itself has a nostalgic charm, with a classic ambiance that feels both timeless and inviting. While the rooms are a bit dated, the property is undergoing a thoughtful revamp. The exteriors have a quaint, almost villa-like feel, and the grounds are beautifully maintained, with tranquil fountains, green courtyards, and peaceful swimming pools tucked throughout. This is the kind of place that’s defined by its people and thanks to Dwayne and Meagan, we’ll definitely be back to experience what the renovations bring.

After reading some of the reviews, I was terrified- but we had an amazing experience! Everyone I encountered was kind and happy to serve us, which was a blessing (no conferences or weddings happening, so staff was available). Our room was clean (nice white linens) and updated (the bed was super comfortable and the barn door allowed for extra private space getting ready). I should note, we stayed in the main area, regular room, two queen beds. The main pool area was fabulous (clean and calm) and the bartender was amazing (she's been there forever!). The night time fire pits were a perfect atmosphere while relaxing. The shop was stacked with everything we needed and the employee in there was delightful. I was surprised to see cigarette butts on the ground on walkways to main area- first that someone would do that and then that there was no one surveying the grounds in the main areas- but the flowers around the grounds were beautiful. The only regret is the food is not the best. Nachos at the pool were good, breakfast (although staff was amazing) left a little to be desired, but we were always met promptly with kindness. We did not eat dinner in the main restaurant, so maybe trying that next time will change our mind about eating there. For the resort price, it would be nice to be able to get high quality food. We will be back, to explore the rest of the grounds and other pools. But, contrary to other reviews the staff, room, and main pool area were a positive experience and worthy of a returned visit. It's close to great restaurants and the location is nearby sought after attractions.

Half of this place is under construction in one form or another. No dining options those are closed as well. The number one complaint I have is how poor the condition of the grounds are in. All of the bushes are either dead or over grown. There is gravel all over the walkways. There are pieces of palm trees and leaves everywhere. Trash cans are full. Just very trashy. The room itself was in pretty decent shape. One exception was under the sink they had what looked like a rotting board. Also, the mattress was horrible. Zero support on what I assume was a spring mattress, so you roll into each other at night. The room didn’t feel dirty. The shower needs some updating since pieces of it looked to be cracking or falling apart.
