Had an event on near Martin Place on Sat so decided to stay at the Sebel Martin place. The hotel is conveniently located on Philip Street around 100 metres down from the Law courts. Room was very nice, well kept and clean. Received Koko black chocolates and wine being a Platinum member in addition to the coolest welcome drink ordering system I have come across out of all Accor properties I’ve ever stayed at… even international Sofitel, Swissotel and Movenpick didnt have this (as someone who stays at hotels alot I can honestly say I’ve probably only ever had the welcome drink twice MAX as I find I’d rather spend my time exploring the city then drinking free drinks at the hotel bar). The way the Sebel has the welcome drinks set up is super convenient and extremely no fuss (QR ordering and free). Customer service was amazing by all staff (very friendly and welcoming). There appears to be a courtyard on the floor for smokers. I don’t think I got a room upgrade being a Platinum member, however, as I’m barely there for this stay (plus I didnt ask), so not too fussed. As the hotel has no in house restaurant, breakfast was at the Sofitel Wentworth.

My stay was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, professional, and always went above and beyond to ensure a perfect experience. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well-equipped, making it easy to relax after a long day. Every aspect of my stay reflected high standards of hospitality and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for outstanding service and a memorable experience. I look forward to returning on my next visit!

Forgot to check the Google reviews before booking. The hotel and service weren’t bad overall, but it didn’t meet the expectations I’d have for a 4-star property. The bathroom felt quite dated; although it’s been maintained, it’s clear it’s been in use for a long time, especially the toilet. Housekeeping standards were inconsistent — we had three rooms, and each one had a different bathroom setup. Also, the welcome kit for Gold class members was only provided in one of the rooms. When I asked the reception about this, the receptionist said they don’t know whether the welcome kit will be in the room until guests walk in, which didn’t make much sense to me. The location is excellent, but there are definitely better options available. Soundproof wasn't great, you can hear the alarm next door easily.

The hotel does not have the ranges of services typically associated with hotels and this was not made clear at the time of booking. While generally this wasn't a major issue, it would have impacted our choices in making a booking and the additional items we booked (such as breakfast). The hotel had no gym but did have a partnership with a co-located fitness first. This was actually much better than standard hotel "gyms" and a benefit I would highlight and recommend. On the downside the hotel has no restaurant. When we booked we included breakfast buffet as part of the booking for the whole family. The hotel partners with a local cafe where you have a limited choice off their menu. The cafe is a hole in the wall with barely any seating and the food quality, relative the to the amount we paid for a hotel breakfast, was poor. Had I known we would actually be getting a cheap cafe bacon and egg roll with a flat white for $20 a person, I would never have added breakfast to the booking. Likewise, the vouchers for this cafe state one item from the menu and a coffee and a juice for each person. When we attended this Cafe states it is a coffee or a juice (which contradicted the voucher). Likewise, as an Accor member, not having a bar area for the welcome drinks and simply having a cheap wine or beer provided by reception was less than ideal. Overall I would consider staying somewhere else for the same relative price, as I believe it would be better value. The rooms were modern and clean, and the decor well selected. The service and facilities are what let this place down.
