Monroyo is easily reachable in just over two hours’ drive from Barcelona Airport (BCN). Transfers are not included, please plan accordingly.

Absolutely loved our stay – we didn’t want to leave. The hotel’s architecture is stunning, thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. The location is unique and peaceful, with a cooled outdoor pool – a huge plus when it’s 38°C – plenty of private spaces, and the option to explore by mountain bike which we did. Staff were exceptionally friendly, the rooms spotless, and dinner outstanding. Our waiter, entirely on his own initiative, looked up our language (Lithuanian, the oldest in Europe) and learned a few words, even though we hadn’t mentioned in advance that we’d be dining there. The food was unique, and as a lovely farewell touch, we received a bottle of local wine. A truly memorable experience.

My friends and I attended Torre del Marqués Hotel Spa & Winery for a wine, yoga and meditation 5-day retreat with Soulful Vines at the end of May. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect spot for our retreat. The staff was amazing and took care of our every need. The food....Oh my, the food - so special and absolutely delicious. It was prepared and presented with so much love for the craft as well as the people who were served. I would definitely go back!!

Beautiful location and property. Great walking. We had two really fantastic meals here. Only negative comment would be the impression of staff shortages around the hotel. Poorly maintained pool and no room cleaning offered until 5pm due to work load.

This hotel has the opportunity to be a truly 5* and 3 Michelin key property, unfortunately the service and policies hold it back. We stayed at Terra Dominicata prior to this stay (another 3 Michelin Key property) so felt we had a strong benchmark for this stay immediately afterwards We flagged all of the below feedback to management on our stay, but did not get a response. The good: - the estate is beautiful, the main property itself is great and very nicely renovated. The rooms were modern, clean and we we fortunately had a balcony with an amazing view - The food in the main restaurant was good and had enough variety for our 3 night stay - The views across the valley are amazing and sunset is perfect. The pool is tranquil and refreshing The bad: - Petty charges: we found it quite odd that such a luxury property would charge €3 for water (& water refills) whilst staying at the hotel. The cost itself was de-minimus but signing for water every time felt quite budget hotel experience - Housekeeping; they cleaned the rooms daily (at around 2-3pm), but never replaced our used glasses or coffee mugs meaning we had to clean them ourselves. Not what we expected at SLH / 3 MK property - Air con: our AC didn’t work properly so in the late evening our room was still 23.5-24 degrees. The staff didn’t try and fix this, and just said wait longer and it will get colder. Sadly by night 3 this was still case The ugly: - The service / staff: Sadly we found the majority (not all) of staff to be quite rude, and lacked strong hospitality service skills. For example, the gorgeous pool has no towels available next to it - we had to go to reception each day to request towels be brought out, once there, we had to go back to hotel every time we wanted water / food or more towels. It’s a shame that no one came to check if we wanted anything with us spending 4-5hours by the pool - The manager: we flagged some of these points we had during our stay with the duty manager. She was extremely dismissive of our feedback (given constructively and not seeking compensation) and said that we were wrong about the AC (despite showing picture evidence) We left our stay with sadly a sour taste due to this experience, we visited Hotel Torre Del Visco after this stay and immediately noticed the quality in service improvement that would be expected at this level of hotel. We truly hope Marques take this onboard and rectify before others get disappointed
